DHIS2 Level Up

The District Health Information Software 2 (DHIS2) is the official platform used by the Ministry of Public Health and its partners for the collection, management, analysis, visualization, and use of health data in Cameroon. The platform plays a central role in supporting routine health information management, programme monitoring, performance tracking, and evidence-based decision-making across all levels of the health system.

Today, DHIS2 is widely used by government institutions, United Nations agencies, international NGOs, national NGOs, and development projects operating within the health sector.

This training will give you the tools you need to navigate in DHIS2 with confidence. No more waiting for someone else to extract data from DHIS2 for you. You will have the ability to disaggregate data based on your programme needs, and use all the DHIS2 modules that are relevant to your work.

By the end of the training, participants will be able to

✅ Generate standard and customized reports.

✅ Create and interpret charts, pivot tables, and visualizations.

✅ Build and customize interactive dashboards.

✅ Use maps for geographic data visualization.

✅ Apply data quality review techniques using DHIS2 tools.

✅ Understand and use Tracker Capture and Event Capture applications.

✅ Identify and troubleshoot common user-level challenges.

✅ Strengthen data use practices for programme monitoring and decision-making.

✅ Translate programme reporting needs into meaningful DHIS2 outputs.

✅ Understand how DHIS2 is implemented and used within the Cameroon health information system.

✅ Gain practical insights directly from national DHIS2 experts.

This is a practical training conducted by DHIS2 experts from the ministry of health. Through presentations, exercises, Q&As and group assignments, participants get hands on experience and skills they can implement in their daily professional activities right after the training. The workshops will take place from 8am to 5pm at a designated location. Coffee breaks and lunch breaks are included in the training package, and participants have access to wifi and training materials.

The training is designed for professionals who already interact with DHIS2 and wish to strengthen their practical skills.
